Fieldcrest squads head east: Clay Wells (79) and Alivia Tjaden (110) had the low score during Thursday's Livingston County Invitational at Pontiac's Wolf Creek.

Locals place in top three: R-B was second and Eureka tied for third with Hartsburg-Emden during the Clinton Invite Monday at the Clinton Country Club. Jordan Huschen of R-B and Eureka's Mason Greiner each finished with a 44.

Fieldcrest outshoots Red Devils: A 37 from Koy Allen guided the Knights (10-1) to a dual triumph over Hall Monday at Spring Valley's Spring Creek.

Pacocha paces hosts: Carolyn Pacocha's 36 aided the Hornets in a Tuesday dual triumph over Le Roy at Kaufman.

Bline leads R-B: Jarrett Bline fired a 43 for the Rockets in a Tuesday setback to Tremont at Pekin's Sunset Hills.

VOLLEYBALL

Eureka 25-25, Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley 9-14: Seven kills from Hailey Flowers paved the way for the Hornets (15-2, 5-0) in Heart of Illinois Conference action on Thursday.

Fieldcrest 19-21, Flanagan-Cornell 25-25: Emma Petersen tallied five kills Thursday evening for the league guest Knights (13-4, 4-1).

Hornets win three at Mt. Pulaski event: Eureka defeated Williamsville (25-15, 25-14), Lanark Eastland (17-25, 25-25, 15-9) and Taylorville (25-22, 25-20) at this weekend's Fall Festival. Statistical leaders over the five matches included Hailey Flowers (46 kills), Amy Pineda (62 assists) and Katie Morin (47 digs).

Knights win two at home: Fieldcrest upended Delavan (25-18, 25-20) and Midland (25-20, 25-14) over five matches in the invite they hosted on Saturday. Emma Petersen (36 kills), Lexi Jochums (52 assists) and Madi Hock (28 digs) were stat leaders.

F-C 16-19, Eureka 25-25: Five kills from Lauren Ausmus led the league hosts on Tuesday.

Fisher 15-14, Fieldcrest 25-25: Alaina Tjaden's 10 service points helped the Knights in HOIC Tuesday evening.

FOOTBALL

Eureka 19, Deer Creek-Mackinaw 18: Matt Martin's six-yard touchdown run and Cade Gold's point-after with one minute and 51 seconds left put the Hornets (3-1, 1-1) on top to stay in Friday's HOIC large division clash. The guests overcame an 18-6 deficit.

Fieldcrest 6, GCMS 48: Matt Lorton's TD pass to Jaxon Cusac-McKay averted a shutout for the Knights (1-3, 0-2) in the league divisional contest on Friday.

CROSS COUNTRY

Eureka, Argo back on the top: Behind Emma Argo's individual triumph, the Hornets won the Bureau Valley Invite Saturday at Walnut. Their 45 points were three better than Rock Falls in the 18-team field. Kyle Johnson was runner-up for the boys, who placed third, while Olympia was first from a pool of 20. Victor Echeveste (25th) and Sadie White (37th) were top finishers for Fieldcrest.

SOCCER

Princeton 0, R-B/E 4: Ashton Hubert managed a goal and an assist for the host Rockets (6-5) on Monday.
