Fieldcrest 56, Orion 45: Derek May's 15 paced the Knights on the road Saturday afternoon.

Tremont 25, R-B 57: Luke Braman led all scorers with 17 points, as the host Rockets (4-1) handed Tremont their first defeat Saturday night.

Eureka 75, Lexington 37: Behind 26 points from Keegan Zimmerman, the Hornets had no problems in their HOIC opener on Tuesday.

Dwight 35, Fieldcrest 68: Ryan Naas tallied 14 points for the Tuesday hosts.


Eureka 21, Tremont 55: Asher Wiegand won a 10-3 decision at 126 pounds for the Hornets (3-2) in the HOIC match on Thursday.

Farmington 12, Eureka 58: In a second Thursday dual at Tremont, Conner McDonald (195) netted in pin at 59 seconds.

Hornets compete up north: Brayden Peiffer recorded a takeout in overtime to take an 8-6 win in the 106-pound championship bout in the Seneca Invitational on Saturday. Clifton Central was first from a field of 17 teams, while Eureka took fourth.

Canton 51, Eureka 27: Isaac Ferguson (195) won via pinfall in a Tuesday dual for the hosts.

Peoria Richwoods 15, Eureka 64: Conner McDonald was on the mat a mere 25 seconds before he scored a pin at 182 in another dual on Tuesday for the Hornets.


Co-op prevails: Ethan Hoffman took the backstroke and breaststroke for Metamora/El Paso-Gridley/Eureka/R-B in a Tuesday triangular triumph over host Peoria Central and Peoria Manual.


May, Brittain highlight list: Fieldcrest's Derek May was named to the HOIC first team at receiver for the third straight season, while Alex Brittain of Eureka was a repeat pick at linebacker. Eureka junior Joel Baer (offensive line/defensive line) and Fieldcrest junior Mason Faulk (offensive line) were other first team choices. The remainder appear below by school:
