Eureka stings competition: Bolstered by an 18-hole score of 79 from Zac Messer, the Hornets won the nine-team Midland Invitational Monday at the Lacon Country Club. Fieldcrest's Koy Allen led the Knights with a 76, while Carter Sauder's 87 paced Roanoke-Benson.
Girls start match play: Eureka's Allison Pacocha fired a 42 during a Monday triangular at Pontiac. Ella McKay shot Fieldcrest's low score of 58.

Eureka fills out schedule: Chicago Public League member Quest has replaced Flanagan-Cornell-Woodland for the upcoming season. They will visit McCollum Field Sept. 14 with a 2 p.m. kickoff. F-C-W left to become a member of the eight-man association back in January. Quest will be the Hornets' fifth home game of the campaign.
