FOLLOW THE LEADER – The Eureka duo of Alexi Fogo (front) and Anna Perry (back) are out in front during Saturday’s invite at Lower Lake Park. Perry would eventually get by her teammate and take first, as the hosts grabbed the team title (For the Journal/Robyn Wiegand).

GOLF

Pacocha prevails: Allison Pacocha of Eureka fired an 18-hole score of three-under-par 69 on Saturday to win the one A individual title on the second day of the state finals at Decatur's Red Tail Run course. Her 36-hole total was one-under 142, as she won by four strokes. The sophomore carded a 73 on Friday

Peoria Christian 0, Roanoke-Benson/E 3: All three goals by the Rockets (16-4-1) came off the foot of Michael Rasmuson in the opening half of Saturday's Illinois Valley Central Regional final at Chillicothe. Renner Thompson, who was recently inserted as goalie, stopped all seven shots

CROSS COUNTRY

Eureka girls defend home turf: Backed by a one-two finish from Anna Perry and Alexi Fogo, the Hornets won the seven-team invite they hosted Saturday morning at Lower Lake Park. Jack Cook (second) led the boys, who took third. Fieldcrest's Andy Wiesenhofer finished seventh for the Knights, who ended up fourth. Kaitlyn Hakes (34th) was the top placer for the Fieldcrest girls

VOLLEYBALL

Ridgeview 17-17, Eureka 25-25: Joan Zimmerman spiked home eight kills Thursday evening for the Heart of Illinois Conference host Hornets (16-14, 7-5)

Lexington 25-27, Fieldcrest 8-25: Five kills from Gracie Schultz led the Knights (20-11, 6-6) in league action on Thursday

Putnam Co. 18-14, R-B 25-25: Eight kills from Kamryn Kearfott led the Rockets (19-11-1) in the third place match of the Tri-County Conference tournament at Lowpoint-Washburn. Kearfott and Maddie Monge were picked to the all-tourney squad

R-B 27-25, Lincoln 25-22: Ten kills from Kamryn Kearfott sent R-B to the winner's circle  Friday night in the Central Catholic Saints Classic at Illinois Wesleyan University's Shirk Center in Bloomington

Heyworth 17-19, Eureka 25-25: Joan Zimmerman served seven points in Tuesday's McLean Co. tourney match at Deer Creek-Mackinaw

Tremont 20-22, Fieldcrest 25-25: In another McLean Co. tourney contest, Gracie Schultz delivered kills for the Knights
