MINONK - Fieldcrest charged out to a 20-0 lead Friday evening on their way to a 47-14 drubbing of Ridgeview/Lexington in a crossover Heart of Illinois Conference matchup at Veteran's Park.

The Knights (4-3) amassed 423 yards of total offense with 321 of those via the ground.

"We're running the ball like we should be," stated Fieldcrest coach Derek Schneeman. "We thought we had an advantage up front. We did a great job up front and took advantage. Our o-line is opening up holes for our running backs."

Michael Morse carried the pigskin 31 times for 162 yards and four touchdowns, while Tyler McKay added 13 carries for 90 yards. Micah Hurd (10 rushes, 65 yards) added two TDs before he was carted off the field in the fourth quarter with what was later revealed to be a fractured fibula.

Sixty-two of Ryan Benton's 87 yards came on a TD run in the second period to get the Mustangs (3-4) on the board.

Teo Zamora registered a game-high 11 tackles for the hosts, who won their third straight game.
