El Paso-Gridley 0, Eureka 6: Zac Messer fired a complete game three-hitter for the Heart of Illinois Conference host Hornets (17-5, 7-1) on Friday.

Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley 25, Fieldcrest 8 (5): Landon Cook supplied three hits and five runs batted in for the league host Knights (8-5, 4-3) on Friday. The game was called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.

RBLW 4, Flanagan-Cornell-Woodland 10: Jason Tallyn collected three hits for the Rockets (8-9, 4-4) in Friday's Tri-County Conference contest at Dozer Park in Peoria.

Tremont 4, Eureka 7: Austin Davis supplied two hits for the hosts in game one of two on Saturday.

RBLW 3, Dwight 2 (8): Jake Weber provided three hits Saturday for the Rockets, who scored in the top of the eight. The game was held at Illinois Wesleyan University's Jack Horenberger Field in Bloomington.

Spring Valley Hall 6, Eureka 2: Daniel Frank drove in both of the hosts' runs in the Saturday nightcap.

Eureka 12, Fisher 2 (5): Winning pitcher Matt Martin supplied three hits for the HOIC guests on Monday. The 10-run rule went into effect after five.

RBLW 1, Ottawa Marquette 5: Ben Monge's two hits led the guests in Tuesday's matchup with the TCC frontrunning Crusaders (17-1, 9-0).


Fieldcrest 1, Tremont 2: Aubrey McNamara's solo big fly in the top of the fifth accounted for the Fieldcrest (8-7, 4-2) offense in Heart of Illinois Conference action on Wednesday.

GCMS 3, Eureka 1 (8): Hannah Martin pitched well in the circle in league action on Wednesday for the Hornets (8-9, 2-5). The guests took the lead with two in the eighth.

EP-G 2, Eureka 4: Morgan Greene's three hits paced the Hornets on Friday.

Princeton 10, Fieldcrest 1: Alaina Tjaden was the pitcher of record for the hosts in the first of two Saturday contests.

Fieldcrest 4, Seneca 6: Aubrey McNamara's two hits paced the Knights in the nightcap.

Eureka 0, Fisher 1 (8): Hannah Martin was the tough luck loser Monday in conference action. Her counterpart, Sidney Eichelberger, singled in the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the eighth.


Sears dominates: Aden Sears of Eureka swept the 100, 200 and 400 to lead the Hornets to team honors in Friday's Metamora ABC Meet.

Teammates tie: LWRB's Logan Gastman and Trent Weldon shared first in the high jump during Monday's Putnam County Invitational at Granville. Whitney Leman was first in the triple jump.

Hornets buzz to crown: Eureka swept team honors at the Elmwood/Brimfield Invite on Monday. Madison Colburn took first in the discus, while Trevor Heffren cleared a personal-best six feet five inches in the high jump.

Fieldcrest boys in action: Mason Stoeger captured the 800 for the Knights in a Tuesday quad at Heyworth that included Blue Ridge and Riverton.


Three-peat for Prina: Eureka's Jerry Prina received more district honors from the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association. This past campaign, he led the Hornets to tie the single season program record for wins at 28, which equaled the 2017-18 club. They won the HOIC crown for the third straight season along with a McLean Co. tournament and regional titles.
