HORNETS’ COLONY – A total of seven Eureka wrestlers will compete in this weekend’s Petersburg Porta Individual Sectional. In the front row from the left are Asher Wiegand and Joel Baer. Ottawa Marquette 54, Roanoke-Benson 51: Maddie Monge scored a game-high 25 points for the Rockets (6-18, 3-4) in Tri-County Conference action Thursday evening.

Eureka 54, Fisher 20: Natalie Anderson's 20 points powered the Hornets (26-2, 12-0) to a third consecutive Heart of Illinois Conference title on Friday. The game was moved from Thursday due to the weather.

Fieldcrest 49, Deer Creek-Mackinaw 57: Addie Goodrich provided 16 points for the Knights (18-11, 7-5) in Friday's league road assignment. Mother Nature forced the contest from Thursday to Friday.


Eureka 61, Fisher 56: The Hornets (19-8, 5-4) received 21 points from Keegan Zimmerman in HOIC action Friday night.

Fieldcrest 42, DCM 52: Jaxon Cusac-McKay netted 10 points for the Knights (16-8, 5-3) Friday in the league tilt.

R-B 46, Woodland 47: Jake Weber tallied 13 points for the short-handed Rockets (15-10, 4-3), who were without two starters in Friday's TCC road game.

Peoria Quest Academy 42, R-B 51: Jake Weber recorded 19 points and went 1,000 for his career in the process for the hosts Saturday night.

Heyworth 38, Eureka 70: Keegan Zimmerman's career-high 37 points was one shy of the HOIC guests' team output on Tuesday.

R-B 47, Tri-Valley 54: Jarrett Bline registered 11 points for the Rockets on the road Tuesday evening.


Eureka duo prevail in regional: Asher Wiegand (126 pounds) and Joel Baer (220) took first in their respective weight classes on Saturday at Deer Creek-Mackinaw. The two matches moved Baer's seasonal record to 28-0. A total of seven Hornets will compete in the Petersburg Porta Individual Sectional that begins Friday.
