Sisters get 18 more holes: Allison (80) and Carolyn Pacocha (82) of Eureka qualified at the Central Catholic Regional held Wednesday at Prairie Vista in Bloomington. The Hornets, who failed to drop a dual all season, did not advance as a team, as they ended up fifth. Peoria Notre Dame was first followed by the hosts and Metamora.

Mariotti the last one in: Nick Mariotti of Fieldcrest got the final individual spot during Monday's Schlarman Sectional at the Danville Country Club. He fired an 81 to advance to Friday morning's state competition at Prairie Vista.

Tandem move on: Eureka's Carolyn Pacocha (77) and Allison Pacocha (81) were qualifiers from Monday's sectional at the Pontiac Elks Club. They'll tee it up Friday in state action from Decatur's Red Tail Run course.

VOLLEYBALL

Roanoke-Benson 25-25, Woodland 16-22: Kamryn Kearfott registered nine kills for the Tri-County Conference frontrunning Rockets (15-8, 7-0) Thursday evening.

Fieldcrest 25-25, Tremont 21-18: Nine kills from Emma Petersen piloted the Knights (21-7, 7-4) in Heart of Illinois Conference competition on Thursday.

Henry 25-20-25, R-B 18-25-22: Kamryn Kearfott deposited 10 kills for R-B, who were upset in the TCC quarterfinal round Saturday morning by the tournament hosts.

Peoria Christian 24-27-17, R-B 26-25-25: The Rockets rebounded in a league tourney contest on Saturday, as Kamryn Kearfott delivered a career-best 14 kills.

Knights reign at event: Fieldcrest won all four matches in Saturday's Beecher Invitational. They knocked off Le Roy (25-18, 25-19), Grant Park (25-15, 25-12), Peotone (25-16, 21-25, 15-12) and the hosts (25-21, 19-25, 25-23) in the finals. Emma Petersen (42 kills) and Lexi Jochums (62 assists) were picked to the all-invite team, while Madi Hock (44 digs) was another statistical leader.

Eureka 26-25-25, Brimfield 28-21-7: Courtney Heffren's 21 kills helped the Hornets (26-3) in the nonconference road match Monday night.

Ridgeview 12-12, Fieldcrest 25-25: Jacie Sullivan contributed five kills for the league hosts on Tuesday.

SOCCER

Metamora 2, R-B/E 2: A penalty kick tally from Ashton Hubert tied Thursday's contest at two. The goal was the 24th for the junior midfielder, which set a new single season standard.

Pekin 3, R-B/E 5: Ashton Hubert piled on three more goals for the Rockets (11-7-1) Saturday morning.

CROSS COUNTRY

Knights grab runner-up honors: Victor Echeveste (fourth) helped Fieldcrest finished second to Morris in Thursday's Gary Coates Invitational at Zearing Park in Princeton. Sadie White was seventh individually.

Locals run to the northwest: Lucy Unzicker (34th) of the Lowpoint-Washburn/R-B co-op was the top girls' finisher in Monday's Columbus Day Invite at Shady Oaks near Amboy. Sadie White (58th) had Fieldcrest's best finish, while Andrew Gochanour (71st) paced the boys.

FOOTBALL

Eureka 36, Tremont 6: Matt Martin rushed for two touchdowns on Friday, as the Hornets (6-1) wrapped up an at-large bid to the playoffs in the HOIC crossover. The guests rushed for 340 yards, as Martin carried 23 times for 246 yards.
