Knights get past Bruins: A 34 from Koy Allen led Fieldcrest (6-1) in Wednesday's dual with Peru St. Bede at Tall Oaks. The hosts prevailed by three strokes (178 to 181).

Eureka flies past Timberwolves: Behind a 37 from Zac Messer, the Hornets (6-1) easily defeated Midland Thursday at Kaufman Park.

R-B wins two: DJ Norman's 42 guided Roanoke-Benson (3-0) to a Thursday triangular triumph over guests Henry and Woodland at Tall Oaks.

Fieldcrest downs Spartans: A 38 by Koy Allen paced the Knights in a Thursday verdict over Olympia at Tall Oaks.

Pacocha leads Eureka: Allison Pacocha fired an 18-hole score of 85 at Saturday's Central Catholic Shootout at Normal's Ironwood. U-High was the team winner.

Knights go one of two: Koy Allen carded a 45 in Tuesday's tri at Pekin's Sunset Hills in Pekin. Fieldcrest prevailed over host Tremont, but lost to Tri-Valley.

Eureka betters BR: A 42 from Allison Pacocha helped the Hornets (3-3) defeat Blue Ridge in a Tuesday tri at Kappa. Host El Paso-Gridley took first in the team standings.

Gates leads the way: Caden Gates shot a 42 for Eureka in a Wednesday tri at Kappa. The Hornets took second to the host Titans, while Tremont rounded out the field.

SOCCER

East Peoria 1, R-B/E 8: All eight goals scored by the Rockets (4-1) on Thursday came in the first half, including four by Ashton Hubert.

Co-op places second: The Rockets won two of three at the Colin Smith Invitational over the weekend at Stillman Valley. Michael Rasmuson had a goal and an assist in Friday's 4-1 triumph over Marengo. In Saturday action, Ashton Hubert piled up four goals in a 5-1 decision over the Woodstock junior varsity. Bradley Bachman provided the offense in a 2-1 loss in the championship game to Peoria Richwoods.

VOLLEYBALL

Eureka 25-20-21, Olympia 13-25-25: Delaney Phillips provided nine kills for the guests in Thursday's opener.

R-B 25-14-20, Lexington 19-25-25: Kamryn Kearfott nailed down seven kills for the Rockets on the road Thursday evening.

Eureka wins two: The Hornets posted victories over the hosts and Erie/Prophetstown over four matches at the Kewanee Wethersfield Invite on Saturday. Orion captured the team crown. The Eureka duo of Darby Leman and Emily Streit were picked to the all-invite squad. 

Knights go five for five: The Knights failed to drop a set to repeat as champions of the Spring Valley Hall Early Bird Invite on Saturday. They took care of the hosts, Galva and Plano in pool play, bettered Sherrard in the semifinals and PSB in the finals. Gracie Schultz provided 37 kills over the five matches.

Flanagan-Cornell 25-25, R-B 12-19: Brynn Rossman had five kills for the Tuesday hosts at Dick Broers Gymnasium.

CROSS COUNTRY

Fieldcrest narrowly misses: The Knights (83) were one point behind Pontiac at the 11-team Morris Early Bird Invite on Wednesday. Victor Echeveste was the top individual placer, as he ended up ninth.

FOOTBALL

Fieldcrest 47, Braidwood Reed-Custer 7: Keegan Castrejon ran for 125 yards and four touchdowns for the Knights in the opener on Friday evening.
