Co-op places second: The Rockets won two of three at the Colin Smith Invitational over the weekend at Stillman Valley. Michael Rasmuson had a goal and an assist in Friday's 4-1 triumph over Marengo. In Saturday action, Ashton Hubert piled up four goals in a 5-1 decision over the Woodstock junior varsity. Bradley Bachman provided the offense in a 2-1 loss in the championship game to Peoria Richwoods.

Knights go five for five: The Knights failed to drop a set to repeat as champions of the Spring Valley Hall Early Bird Invite on Saturday. They took care of the hosts, Galva and Plano in pool play, bettered Sherrard in the semifinals and PSB in the finals. Gracie Schultz provided 37 kills over the five matches.
Flanagan-Cornell 25-25, R-B 12-19: Brynn Rossman had five kills for the Tuesday hosts at Dick Broers Gymnasium.
Fieldcrest narrowly misses: The Knights (83) were one point behind Pontiac at the 11-team Morris Early Bird Invite on Wednesday. Victor Echeveste was the top individual placer, as he ended up ninth.
Fieldcrest 47, Braidwood Reed-Custer 7: Keegan Castrejon ran for 125 yards and four touchdowns for the Knights in the opener on Friday evening.
