Hornets' squads move on: Emma Argo's first place finish helped Eureka to the team crown at Saturday's Elmwood/Brimfield Sectional at the Maple Lane Country Club. Argo was clocked in 17 minutes, 27 seconds over three miles. They finished with 57 points, while Pleasant Plains (107) was a distant second. Jack Cook (ninth) was the Hornets' top placer, as they were fourth in the team standings. The hosts took first, while Olympia was second. State competition is next weekend at Detweiller Park in Peoria.

Roanoke-Benson 22-14, Hartsburg-Emden 25-25: Madalyn Oltman's six kills led the Rockets (19-10) in Thursday's regional championship match with the host Stags.
Bureau Valley 17-12, Eureka 25-25: Courtney Heffren's 13 kills powered the Hornets (33-3) in Monday's Monmouth United Sectional.
