Krile tabbed by group: Eureka pitcher Brady Krile has received all-state honors in two A by the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association. The right-hander went 11-0 with an earned run average of 0.32, as the Hornets won 25 games and advanced to the sectional final round this past campaign. He will continue his diamond career at Division II Missouri-St. Louis.
Area falls: The Intercity scored a walk-off 5-4 win over the Area in the Pantagraph all-star game Sunday at the Corn Crib in Normal. The winning run scored on a wild pitch. Brady Krile got the ball for the Area and went two innings in which he allowed a run on three hits accompanied by five strikeouts. Ben Monge of the Roanoke-Benson/Lowpoint-Washburn drove in a run and singled in the top of the sixth. The Area knotted it at four-all on a run-scoring double from Eureka's Austin Davis.

Monge lauded by TCC: Ben Monge has been chosen to the Tri-County Conference first team. He was one seven unanimous selections on the nine-player squad. Jarrett Bline was named to the second team.
Locals sweep: During Saturday's Illinois Basketball Coaches Association all-star games at Pontiac, the South, coached by Eureka's Jerry Prina, tipped the North 93-92. Courtney Heffren of Eureka scored eight points for the winners. The North edged the South 92-91, as Eureka's Keegan Zimmerman netted six points for the victors.
