EAST PEORIA - The Roanoke-Benson/Eureka co-op lost 2-1 to Earlville Tuesday at the Eastside Centre in the semifinals of the Peoria Christian Sectional.

The lone goal for the Rockets (16-4-1) came in the 66th minute from Ashton Hubert, his 48th of the season. That cut the margin to 2-1.

Earlville (18-2) upped their advantage to two on a goal from Jarred Fries a little under two minutes into the second half.

“One bounced from a corner kick off the goal post. The other was a squib kick,” said R-B/E coach Dennis Kennell of the Red Raiders' two goals. “We thought they would be quick. The kids played their hearts out. It was a great season.”

In the second semi, Quincy Notre Dame moved on with a 7-2 victory over Mendota.
