NORMAL — Heartland Theatre Company's new season begins June 6 with its popular 10-minute play festival, and a variety of other productions throughout 2019 and early 2020.

The 10-Minute Play Festival, titled “The Library,” features eight new plays by winning playwrights from across the country. Production dates are June 6-8, 13-15, 20-23, and 27-29, with curtain at 7:30 p.m. Matinees at 2 p.m. will be June 23 and 29. 

The Mike Dobbins Memorial New Plays from the Heartland will run July 11-14 with curtain at 7:30 p.m. The July 15 matinee begins at 2 p.m.

Other productions include:

"The Electric Baby" by Stefanie Zadravec and directed by Jimmy Chrismon, will be Sept. 12-14, 19-22 and 26-28 with curtain at 7:30 p.m. Matinees at 2 p.m. will be Sept. 22 and 28.

"Outside Mullingar" by John Patrick Shanley and directed by Don LaCasse will be Oct. 31-Nov. 1-2, Nov. 7-10 and 14-16, with curtain at 7:30 p.m. Matinees at 2 p.m. will be Nov. 10 and 16.

"The Play's the Thing," with the reading and focus on a new full-length play, will be 7:30 p.m. Dec. 8 and 2 p.m. Dec. 9.

"Waiting for Godot" by Samuel Beckett and directed by Eric Thibodeaux-Thompson will be Feb. 6-8, 13-16, and 20-22, with curtain at 7:30 p.m. Matinees at 2 p.m. will be Feb. 16 and 22.

"The Cake" by Bekah Brunstetter and directed by Sandra Zielinski, will be April 2-4, 9-12 and 16-18, with curtain at 7:30 p.m. Matinees at 2 p.m. will be April 12 and 18.
