Gotta have more Hart: If, you missed his show several weeks ago at the B.O.S. Center in Springfield ... take Hart. Literally. Comedian Kevin Hart, star of one of the Christmas season's biggest movie hits, the still-playing "Jumanji: Back to the Jungle," is headed back to Central Illinois this spring for seconds. This time, he'll be wringing laughs out of the Peoria Civic Center Arena at 7 p.m. April 26, with tickets priced from $59-$128, and now on sale via the PCC box office and Ticketmaster.
Pajama party: Also headed to the Peoria Civic Center this spring is one for the kids, PJ Masks Live! Time to Be a Hero, a live-action musical adventure based on the hit animated Disney Junior series about the trio of animal pals who, by night, become the PJ-clad masked superheroes Catboy, Owlette and Gekko. The performance is at 6 p.m. May 4 in the PCC Theater, with tickets priced from $35-$99, and now on sale via the box office and Ticketmaster.
Castle stormers: Recent additions to the spring slate of Bloomington's Castle Theatre include a dual rock headliner pairing Red and Lacey Sturm, with openers Righteous Vendetta, at 7 p.m. March 4 ($20-$25); British new-glam rockers The Struts, 8 p.m. May 8, with openers The Glorious Sons and Spirited Animal ($22.50-$25); and more U.K. rock, via Basement Citizen, with openers Pronoun and Souvenir, 6:30 p.m. May 11 (18-$20).
Summer in the country: Or is it country in the summer? You decide. Coming to Streator's annual weeklong Fourth of July party is veteran singer Joe Diffie on June 30 (there's rock, too, via Saving Abel and Tantric on June 29). Added to the lineup of the July 21 Tailgate N' Tallboys concert on the Peoria riverfront are Whitey Morgan and Colter Wall. And headlining the annual late-summer Mahomet Music Festival in downtown Mahomet will be Rodney Atkins on Aug. 24 and Mark Chesnutt on Aug. 25 (both of those shows are freebies).
