  • Hearts of the matter: It'll be a Heart-to-Blackhearts evening as two of the most famous female-fronted bands in rock annals share the stage of Bloomington's U.S. Cellular Coliseum March 20 … headliner Heart and special guests Joan Jett & The Blackhearts. Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show are $39 to $59, and go on sale at noon Friday via the Coliseum box office and Ticketmaster. Heart, led by sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson, have been part of the rock scene for 40 years, as has Jett, whose rock career began in the mid-1970s with The Runaways.
  • Primus time: More veteran rock is coming this spring, when Primus returns to Peoria after headlining at last year's Summer Camp Music Festival. This time, the show is a special Primus rendering of the entire soundtrack to the 1971 film version of “Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory,” which, it seems, had a profound impact on Primus front man Les Claypool when he first encountered it as an 8-year-old. “To top it off, it gives me an excuse to wear a purple, velvet waistcoat and brown top hat for the next 18 months,” said Claypool of the winter-spring tour, which lands at the Peoria Civic Center Theater April 28. Tickets are $30 to $52.50, and go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, via the PCC box office and Ticketmaster.
  • Stayin' alive: The Bees Gees may be two-thirds gone now, but their memory, and sound, lives on via The Australian Bee Gees Show, which should be dancing into the Peoria Civic Center Theater at 7 p.m. March 19, with tickets priced from $36 to $60, and now on sale via the box office and Ticketmaster. The multimedia production, now in its 17th year, includes a trio of tribute performers as the Brothers Gibb, along with live camera images, graphics and light show.
  • Ticket stubs: A reminder that tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday for 'Weird Al' Yankovic's May 26 concert in the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts. Prices range from $39 to $62 at 866-686-9541 … A couple big additions to the late-winter slate of Bloomington's Castle Theatre, including a return engagement for the Bottle Rockets, 8 p.m. Feb. 20 ($15-$17), and a first-time pass by Asleep at the Wheel, 8 p.m. March 20 ($30-$40).
