GIBSON CITY - The Gibson Area Hospital Auxiliary launched its Love Lights a Tree fundraising campaign earlier this week.
Funds generated from Love Lights A Tree are used to meet special needs and to purchase items for patient care and comfort at the hospital and annex facility. Past years’ auxiliary funds have purchased blanket warmers for surgical rooms, specialized wheelchairs for chemotherapy patients and lift chairs for annex residents’ use.
Lights on evergreen trees located near the entrance to the hospital will be lit as goals are achieved in the Love Lights A Tree campaign.
Co-chairs Sue Everett and Karen Schantz invite area residents to give a “gift of love” this holiday season in the form of a donation to Gibson Area Hospital.
With a donation of $20 or more, donors can honor or remember family and friends or acknowledge someone who has done something special over the past year. A special card will be sent to the donor to give to the person or family the donor has chosen to honor or remember.

The campaign for giving runs through Dec. 31, and gifts to the Gibson Area Hospital are charitable and tax deductible as allowed by law.
Donation forms are available at various businesses in Gibson City and surrounding communities, at the hospital and its clinic facilities and from auxiliary members. Donations may be mailed to 1120 N. Melvin St., Gibson City, IL 60936, and donors should specify they are for the Love Lights A Tree project.
Donations may also be made online at gibsonhospital.org. With an online donation, please specify it is for the Auxiliary’s Love Lights A Tree program.
