GIBSON CITY — Darlene F. Bell, 87, of Gibson City, died at 6:38 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 13, 2014) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Her graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Drummer Township Cemetery, Gibson City. The Rev. Ed Taylor will officiate.
Mrs. Bell was born Nov. 23, 1926, in Gibson City, a daughter of Arthur and Viola Huxtable Pruitt. She married Robert “Buzz” Bell on Jan. 18, 1946, in Gibson City. He died Aug. 25, 2009.
Surviving are two sons, Terry (Cindy) Bell and Kevin Bell, both of Gibson City; five grandchildren, Matt Bell, Staci Ward, Derek Bell, Tyler Bell and Jaiden Bell, all of Gibson City; three great-grandchildren, Alex, Logan and Drew Ward; and one sister, Wanda Ausili, Gibson City.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, two sisters and one brother.
Darlene lived in Gibson City most of her life. She was a secretary at Central Soya in Gibson City for 27 years and retired in 1987. She was a faithful member of WOTM before its disbandment.
