MOLINE — Josh Robinson's 3-pointer late in regulation pulled the Normal West High School basketball team into overtime with Moline, and the Wildcats dominated the extra session Friday to claim a 65-57 nonconference win.
Robinson, who finished with 19 points, six assists and five rebounds, brought West (6-7) back from the brink of defeat after the Wildcats gave up a fourth quarter lead to a pressing Maroons squad.
It was a different story in overtime, as West took the lead and controlled the tempo the rest of the way, outscoring Moline, 16-8 over the extra four minutes.
"We did a good job handling their pressure in overtime", said West head coach Brian Cupples, whose team halted a four-game skid. "We were able to set the pace which resulted in fouls and free throw opportunities".
Austin Zobrist hit four 3-pointers while chipping in 18 for the Wildcats. Kyler Stork scored 11 while blocking two shots.
Moline (8-5) was led by Tyler Biscontine with 16 points, including four 3-pointers.
