DWIGHT — An open house will happen 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 19 at the new OSF HealthCare Medical Group office, 107 Watters St., Dwight.
Tours will be offered. Attendees are asked to bring a school supply which will be donated to Dwight schoolchildren in need.
The office opened July 16 and includes nine patient exam rooms, physical therapy, medical imaging, expanded office hours and early access to laboratory testing. OSF HealthCare has provided health services in Dwight for nearly 30 years but recently moved to the Watters Street location from John Street.
Dr. Maulin Shah and advance practice nurse Carrie Cullick are the office's family medicine providers.
HOPEDALE — The Tazewell County Health Department will host its year-long program, Prevent T2 Lifestyle Change Program, beginning in September at the Hopedale Wellness Center.
The goal of the program is to help people diagnosed with pre-diabetes, or people who have multiple risk factors for type 2 diabetes, from developing the disease. Classes will be 8:30 a.m. Wednesdays.
Fee for the program is $25. Registration deadline is Aug. 17. Register at the wellness center front desk or by calling Sara Matthews at 309-449-4516.
An orientation will be 8:30 a.m. Aug. 22 at the wellness center.
