BLOOMINGTON — Mary Kathryn Duncan and Timothy Lyons Malecek, both of Chicago, were married at 1:30 p.m. June 7, 2014, at St. Patrick Church of Merna in Bloomington.
Her parents are Eric and Sheila Duncan of Bloomington. His parents are Robert and Carolyn Malecek of St. Louis, Mo.
Maggie Duncan was the maid of honor and Ellen Malecek, Ale Lara, Caitlin Ford, Lauren Lange and Emma Nussbaum were bridesmaids. Tim Huether was the best man and Andrew Schroeder, Matt Duncan, Patrick Duncan, Joe McDonald and Jack Kelly were groomsmen. The ushers were Matt Wilsey, Marty Beres and Teddy Johnson. The flower girl was Keaton Wille and the ring bearer was Gannon Wille.
The reception was at the Doubletree by Hilton in Bloomington, followed by a wedding trip to Hawaii.
The bride received a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from University of Notre Dame and a doctor of medicine degree from University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago. She is a first-year resident in internal medicine at Northwestern University. The groom received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering and a master's in education from University of Notre Dame. He is a science teacher at Saint Ignatius College Prep School in Chicago.
The couple resides in Chicago.
