BLOOMINGTON —Bedtime Boutique is closing after 34 years in business in downtown Bloomington.
"I am retiring," Brenda Tannahill, owner of the store at 416 N. Madison St., told The Pantagraph on Tuesday.
The business specialized in hard-to-find bra sizes, swimwear and lingerie.
"It saddens me to say that Bedtime Boutique will be closing its door as of August 31, 2019," said Tannahill in a statement. "As much as I will miss coming to work and helping women from all over the state, I am excited to start this new chapter in my life."
Tannahill added: "I want to thank all my customers for their business. Without your loyalty and dedication, Bedtime Boutique would never have stayed opened for the last three decades."
A “Goodbye Sale” got under way Tuesday and will run through Aug. 31 or while supplies last.
The business began in 1985 in an old house on the property. Ten years later, Brenda and her husband, Al Tannahill, expanded to its current location behind the house. The store underwent another expansion, from 1,800 square feet to 3,000 square feet, in 2007.
