ATLANTA - Investigators are still trying to find the cause of a fire that burned a family's home late last month in Atlanta.

The fire destroyed the home and killed at least two dogs after it began about 1:30 p.m. Jan. 24 at 504 N.E. Third St. None of the three residents was injured, but the blaze delayed firefighters on the way to a wake for their fellow firefighter, Roger Armstrong, who died of a blocked coronary artery after fighting another fire several days earlier.

Patti Thompson, spokeswoman for the state fire marshal's office, said it appears the fire started in a living room, but the cause is still under investigation.
