Ham radio event set for this weekend
BLOOMINGTON - Ham radio enthusiasts will demonstrate their craft from noon Saturday to noon Sunday at the American Red Cross, 1 Westport Court.
The event is sponsored by Central Illinois Radio and State Farm Amateur Radio Club.
The "field day" ends a week-long amateur radio week. Radio operators use only generators, batteries or solar power to test their skills in emergency stations set up in parks, shopping malls and back yards.

Weather reporting seminar offered
BLOOMINGTON - A Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow (CoCoRaHS) training session for Central Illinois is scheduled for 7 p.m. June 26 at McLean County Extension Office, 402 N. Hershey Road.
Participants will learn how to measure and report amounts, and how to obtain the standard rain gauge required for network observers.
