Busey to sponsor new BCPA sign
BLOOMINGTON - The Bloomington Cultural District has announced a $25,000 sponsorship from Busey Bank to help pay for an electronic sign at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts.
The sign will be on the southwest corner of the BCPA grounds, facing northbound U.S. 51. It will be erected this summer.
The money will be paid over five years. The bank has first right of refusal on a second, five-year sponsorship.
The sign will have an LED display and illuminated panels.
Kids' peace camp planned next week
BLOOMINGTON - The Kids' Peace Camp will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday at YWCA McLean County, 1201 N. Hershey Road (lower level).
The camp is sponsored by local government, service clubs, churches and individuals. It will teach conflict resolution, impulse control, dealing with differences, non-English languages, empathy training, interpersonal communication and community environment concerns.
