BLOOMINGTON - When sports fans come to watch the first Bloomington Extreme home football game April 1 at U.S. Cellular Coliseum, they'll also see the first public performance of the Extreme Dance Team.
Coliseum officials say 11 women made the final cut after Feb. 18 auditions.
All have local ties, either through growing up in the area or having attended Illinois State University, Normal.
Stacy Kegan, owner of Stacy's Dance Factory, will coordinate the team and serve as its choreographer.
The team will perform routines at games in the downtown Bloomington venue and take part in other public events for the team, said Melissa Ash, coliseum spokeswoman.
Dancers are: Sunshine Callas, Tristin Collins, Catherine Drewry, Jessica Harris, Alicia Mallory, Ashley Meiner, Alice Starks, Stephanie Woody, and Brionna Wight.
Among the Extreme dancers, two are ISU graduates; two now attend ISU; and three attend Heartland Community College. One dancer is a local preschool teacher; and two are Normal Community West High School seniors.
Six of the dancers graduated from, or currently attend, Normal high schools; one graduated from Olympia High School.
