BLOOMINGTON - Storms rolled through Central Illinois on Friday, causing little damage but delaying high school football games.
Lightning delayed games for almost two hours in some cases. Game officials routinely stop play at the first sign of lightning and do not allow play to resume until 30 minutes after the last flash of lightning.
Olympia's game at Rochester was postponed until 1 p.m. today.
Weather officials received reports of up to 1½-inch hail in parts of Logan County and recorded a 63 mph wind gust at Central Illinois Regional Airport during the storm.
But no damage had been reported Friday night to the National Weather Service's office in Lincoln or the McLean County Emergency Management Agency, officials there said.
