A Peoria County coroner's jury ruled Wednesday that an inmate's death at the Livingston County jail was a suicide.
James M. Fleming, 49, of Pontiac was found hanging in his cell March 16, according to a report from the Peoria County coroner's office. He was pronounced dead at a Peoria hospital at 4:25 p.m.
Livingston County Sheriff Robert McCarty was not available Thursday for comment on the inmate death.
An inmate hanged himself last year. That death was the first in 12 years for an inmate in that jail.
