LINCOLN -- An autopsy performed Monday indicated an 18-month-old boy struck by a car Saturday died of blunt force trauma to the head, according to the Logan County coroner.
Coroner Robert Thomas said Trysten Rives was pronounced dead at 5:53 p.m. Saturday at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Lincoln Police Chief Ken Greenslate said city police were notified at 5:34 p.m. of a vehicle striking a child in the 1100 block of Pulaski Street.
"Upon the arrival of the police, the child had already been transported from the scene by the family," Greenslate said in a news release.
The incident remains under investigation, police said.
