Catherine L. "Kathy" Bellott, 69, of Bloomington, passed away Tuesday (Nov. 6, 2018) at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, Peoria.
Kathy was born Jan. 6, 1949, in Oglesby, a daughter to Bernard J. and Lucille C. White Bellott.
Surviving are her daughter, Dee (Xan) Flink, Chicago; siblings, Barb (Jim) Faber, St. Louis, Mo.; Barry (Sheila) Bellott, Aurora; and Julie (Scott) Dunkin, Charlotte, N.C.; and grandchildren, Joseph, Elliot and Freya.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Joe Bellott.
Kathy was raised in Streator. She received her bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University in education and her master's degree from Illinois State University. She taught business classes in Streator, Wenona, Bloomington and Peoria school districts.
After retiring she was involved in many activities with her friends and church family of St. Patrick Catholic Church of Merna.
Her family would like to thank her friends from Faith in Action, especially Kathy Hopper and Ricardo Baez, for their loving care and assistance. They would also like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Marjorie Kauth and Geralyn and Joe Miskulin for their love and support.
Her funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church of Merna in Bloomington with Father Michael Picca officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday prior to Mass at the church. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home, Bloomington, is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to be directed to Westminster Village Foundation.
