PEORIA — Six potential jurors were interviewed Friday morning, but none has been selected yet to join eight others seated Thursday in the murder trial of Chris Harris.
Jurors are selected in panels of four after lawyers for both sides and Judge Scott Drazewski ask questions, a process that takes about 30 minutes.
Harris, 34, faces 33 counts of murder in the September 2009 deaths of Rick and Ruth Gee and three of their children. His brother, Jason, 26, faces similar charges in the deaths of the family in their Beason home. A trial date for Jason Harris has not been set.
A retired teacher, a jeweler, a hospital worker and a retired school bus driver are under consideration for the final panel of four.
Four alternates also will be seated.
If the jury selection wraps up on Friday, opening statements will be Monday in Peoria County Circuit Court.
