BLOOMINGTON — A Bloomington man has been charged with drug-induced homicide in connection with a Bloomington man's fatal opioid overdose last fall.

Christopher Barker, 35, was arrested Wednesday on a McLean County warrant and jailed in lieu of posting $100,035. He also was charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance.

The McLean County Coroner’s Office determined George Darnell, 44, died Nov. 8 as a result of an overdose at his home in the 600 block of South McClun Street.

A drug-induced homicide charge may be brought against a suspect accused of delivering a controlled substance that causes the victim's death.
