BLOOMINGTON — Bloomington police are asking the public to help them locate the owners of a German shepherd that seriously wounded a woman overnight Thursday.
The woman had "very serious but non-life-threatening" injuries, according to a statement issued by Bloomington police. The attack occurred around midnight Thursday in the 400 block of North Clayton Street.
Police warn the public not to approach the dog if they see it, but to call police at 309-820-8888 or 911 in an emergency. There were no new reports of the loose dog on Friday.

The dog was described as a German shepherd with no collar or tags and dirty matted hair. Police believe the dog may live a few blocks east of the downtown area.
