Bloomington police: Shots fired in three incidents over weekend

BLOOMINGTON — Police in Bloomington are looking for clues in three incidents of gunfire over the weekend.

“These three shots-fired incidents are being investigated as unrelated incidents at this time,” police said in a statement released Monday afternoon.

Police in Normal also are continuing to investigate one incident as well.

At 2:54 a.m. Saturday, Bloomington officers were called to the 1700 block of Illinois Street. Upon arrival, officers located physical evidence that gunfire had occurred. No one was reported to be injured. Anyone with information, is asked to contact Detective Jared Bierbaum at 309-434-2807 or Jbierbaum@cityblm.org.

At 3:15 a.m. Sunday, a report of shots fired came from the 700 block of North Roosevelt Avenue in Bloomington. One residence and one vehicle were struck, police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Ty Klein at 309-434-2366 or Tklein@cityblm.org.

At 4:38 a.m. Sunday, officers went to the 600 block of West Graham Street in Bloomington for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located physical evidence that gunfire had occurred, but no other information was released. Anyone with information is asked to contact Bierbaum.

Police in Normal say there were no reports of injuries or arrests in an early Sunday morning incident.

Police were called to the 800 block of South University Street at 1:46 a.m. to investigate a report of shots being fired. Police said a white Chevrolet was seen leaving the area, but no suspect information was given. Officers were later able to locate shell casings in the area, but there were no reported injuries.
