NORMAL — Normal Police hope security cameras can help explain two shots-fired incidents near Illinois State University in the past week.

The department is seeking video of a Wednesday shooting in the 300 block of Taylor Street in which a car was hit three times in the hood around 11:04 p.m. On Saturday, shots were heard and shell casings found at Woodridge Apartments at 700 N. Adelaide St. around 12:15 a.m.

"Nobody saw anything. Just quite a few people heard," said Normal Assistant Police Chief Eric Klingele of the incidents. "The (car's) owner says they have no idea why anyone would do that."

Klingele said video from Chiddix Junior High School, two blocks from the Taylor Street location, may be helpful. He said he's not aware of security cameras near Woodridge Apartments.

Anyone with information related to the shootings is asked to call the Normal Police Department at 309-454-9535 or McLean County Crime Stoppers at 309-888-1111.
