ELLSWORTH — Authorities have not yet released the identity of an Ellsworth man who died Sunday morning in a one-car accident near Ellsworth.
The man was not wearing a seat belt, according to a statement issued by the McLean County Coroner Kathleen Yoder.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy was scheduled for later Sunday, but details were not available as of 1:30 p.m. Monday. Details of the crash also are not yet available.
Yoder said her office was notified at 7:43 a.m. about the accident that occurred on County Road 2840 East Road at 975 North.
The man was the only person in the car. The accident remains under investigation by the sheriff's department.
The Ellsworth Fire Department assisted at the scene.
