LeROY — Police continue a search for a Rankin man who is under investigation for running from the scene of a driving under the influence investigation Saturday night near LeRoy.

LeRoy Police Chief Jason Williamson said Wayne A. Yeary, 24, is accused of aggravated DUI, driving on a revoked license, escape and resisting arrest.

“Yeary ran from officers into a corn field during a traffic stop in the area of Interstate 74 and Illinois 136 at approximately 9:30 p.m. Saturday,” Williamson said.

Williamson added that Yeary is also named on warrants from at least one other Illinois county.

The McLean County Sheriff's Department, Normal Police Department, Downs Police Department and the Illinois State Police assisted in the search.

He was not in custody as of Monday afternoon.
