BLOOMINGTON — A Baltimore, Maryland, man is awaiting extradition back to Maryland on bank robbery charges following his arrest Saturday night in Bloomington.
The U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force, Bloomington/McLean County K-9 units, and McLean County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jonathan D. Goff, 36, without incident about 9:15 p.m. Saturday, police said Monday.
Goff is named on a Montgomery County, Md., warrant charging him with armed bank robbery. Goff is being held without bond at the McLean County jail pending a court appearance.
Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the robbery of a TD Bank in Gaithersburg.
About 1:28 p.m. June 8, officers responded to the bank, 15830 Shady Grove Road, for a reported robbery. Detectives said Goff approached a teller, passed a note, and announced the robbery. He demanded cash and implied that he was armed with a weapon. Goff obtained an undisclosed amount of currency and ran away.
It is not known what, if any, connection, he has to Bloomington.
