NORMAL — A 16-year-old boy is in custody at the McLean County Juvenile Detention Center in connection with a stabbing of another youth Saturday at a park in Normal.
Another teenage boy was found stabbed in the back Saturday afternoon at Anderson Park. Normal police were called to the scene shortly before 5 p.m. and found the boy near the playground.
The youth's wounds did not appear life-threatening, said NPD.
No details of the arrest were immediately available on Sunday.
Officers said the boy was speaking to paramedics as he was being loaded into an ambulance and taken to a local hospital, but there was no other information on his condition Sunday evening.
Police at the scene were using flashlights to look for unspecified items and said they had a description of a vehicle that left the scene.
