FARMER CITY — Two men were injured in a late Sunday night stabbing in Farmer City.

Police Chief Glenn Neal said at 11:53 p.m. police were called to the 400 block of North William Street and found two men with injuries. Kelsie C. Davis, 23, of Champaign, suffered apparent non-life-threatening injuries, he said. Stephen G. Nixon, 18, of Farmer City, suffered serious injuries. Both were transported to Carle Hospital in Urbana.

A 19-year-old Farmer City man was arrested about an hour later in connection with the incident. Preliminary charges include aggravated battery and criminal damage to property. He was transported to the DeWitt County jail.

The Pantagraph does not name suspects in such cases until they are formally charged.

A 17-year-old male also was arrested and charged with misdemeanor battery and criminal damage to property in connection with the case; he was released to his parents.

The investigation is continuing, said Neal. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 309-928-2111.
