NORMAL — Normal police continue to ask for the public's help in locating two men who robbed Dollar Store employees Friday night.

Normal police said the employees had just left the store at 1710 Bradford Lane about 9:35 p.m. when they were approached by two males with guns who demanded money. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash and personal items from the employees and ran north.

The employees were not injured, police said.

A McLean County Sheriff's Department K-9 unit tracked the suspects to an area north of the nearby Schnucks grocery store, but could not locate them.

One of the suspects is described by police as a light-skinned black man with freckles who was about 6 feet 2 inches tall. He had a thin build and appeared to be 20 to 25 years old.

He had a long gun, shotgun or rifle and was wearing a black hoodie.

The other was described as a black man who was about 5 foot 9 inches tall with a thin build. He had a black handgun and was wearing a white Halloween-style mask.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call detective Brad Park at 309-454-9527, email him at bpark@normal.org, or call McLean County Crime Stoppers at 309-828-1111.

It was the second armed robbery at a Normal store in the same week.

An armed robber took an undisclosed amount of money from Express Mart, 108 N. Linden St., at gunpoint about 7 a.m. last Wednesday. The suspect is described as a black woman with large puffy hair. She was wearing a scarf and multi-color pajama-type pants.

Anyone with information in that case is asked to call police at 309-454-9535.
