Child endangerment — A Bloomington woman has been charged with hitting her 10-month-old child.
Valerie Burdick, 24, of the 100 block of Donnie Drive was jailed in lieu of posting $5,035 on charges of aggravated battery, endangering the life of a child and a misdemeanor count of domestic battery. She also was ordered to have no contact with anyone under the age of 18 and not to drink alcohol.
Prosecutors allege Burdick struck her son on the face and body, causing bruises, on Saturday.
Unlawful restraint — A Normal man faces two counts of intimidation and one count of aggravated unlawful restraint.
Steven Decker, 35, of the 900 block of Sheridan Road, allegedly pointed a gun and threatened a family member on Saturday at his home. He was jailed in lieu of posting $7,035 and ordered to have no contact with the victim. Prosecutors said all weapons had been removed from Decker’s home.
DUI — A Bloomington man is charged for a third time with aggravated driving under the influence while having a minor in the car.
Joshua Bains, 36, of the 1800 block of Cloud Street, is charged with aggravated DUI, driving on a revoked license and child endangerment. Charges indicate the suspect has two previous DUI convictions alleging a child passenger at the time of the offense. He was jailed in lieu of posting $2,535.
