Public safety: Drugs, weapons, domestic battery charges filed in McLean County


Domestic battery — A Bloomington man faces domestic battery charges.

Bobby Pointer, 32, of the 600 block of Lee Street is charged with aggravated domestic battery involving strangulation and domestic battery involving a family member or member of his household on Aug. 30.

He was jailed in lieu of posting $5,035.

Weapons — Weapons charges are pending against a homeless man.

Andrew Morris, 29, is charged as an armed habitual criminal after he was found with .40-caliber firearm in Bloomington on Sept. 5. The offense is a class X felony because of two prior convictions.

He also is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and two misdemeanor charges of resisting and obstructing an officer.

Morris was jailed in lieu of posting $50,035.

Cocaine — A Bloomington man faces drug charges.

Tyrone Foy, 46, of the 100 block of Toms Drive is charged with five counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance for varying amounts of cocaine, all less than 15 grams. He also was charged with unlawful possession of cocaine with the intent to deliver.
