Public safety: Home invasion, weapons, domestic battery charges filed in McLean County

DUI — A Farmer City man faces DUI charges in McLean County.

Jeffery A. McCall, 51, is charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol after an alleged incident on Nov. 17 in LeRoy. The charge is a Class 2 felony for his third offense. He is also charged with obstructing justice and attempted aggravated battery; he is accused of trying to kick a McLean County deputy.

He was jailed in lieu of posting $5,035.

Home invasion — A Heyworth man is charged with home invasion.

Travis B. Roberts, 43, was taken into custody on charges of home invasion and criminal trespass to a Bloomington residence on Nov. 17.

He was jailed in lieu of posting $10,035.

Aggravated domestic battery — Battery charges are pending against a Bloomington man.

Alex J. Nelson, 32, of the 400 block of Valley View Circle, is charged with aggravated domestic battery. He is accused of intentionally strangling a family or household member. He is also charged with two counts of domestic battery for allegedly shoving the same person to the ground and kicking them.

He was jailed in lieu of posting $2,535.

Weapons — A Bloomington man faces weapons charges.

Avias D. White, 28, of the 800 block of East Jefferson Street, is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a street gang member, accused of possessing a firearm and ammunition without a valid FOID. He is also charged with unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated battery.

He was jailed in lieu of posting $25,035.

Aggravated domestic battery — A Stanford man faces battery charges.

Joseph E. Riethmaier, 59, is charged with aggravated domestic battery with strangulation stemming from an alleged incident Nov. 18 in Stanford. He is also charged with domestic battery involving the person.

He was jailed in lieu of posting $5,035.

Sex offender — A Bloomington man is charged with violating the Illinois Sex Offender Registration Act.

Dennis J. Gillespie, 23, of the 300 block of East Mulberry Street, who previously was convicted as a sex offender, is accused of failing to report his status at his place of residence between Oct. 16 and Nov. 17, which is a Class 2 felony. He is also charged with two misdemeanor counts of obstructing an officer.

He was jailed in lieu of posting $2,035.
