Firearm discharge — A man is accused of firing a gun toward a woman, damaging a door and porch wall.
Robert E. Witt, 37, is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm/occupied vehicle, a Class 1 felony, and reckless discharge of a firearm, a Class 4 felony.
Court records said the incident occurred in March or April and that Witt subsequently told three other people. Witt, who has a valid FOID card and concealed carry permit, had a loaded gun on his hip at the time of his arrest, records said.
He was jailed in lieu of $3,035 and ordered to avoid contact with the woman and to stay away from the residence.
Domestic battery — A man is accused of trying to strangle a woman during a fight.
Jefferi D. Broadway, 31, is accused of aggravated domestic battery, a Class 2 felony; domestic battery and unlawful restraint, both Class 4 felonies; and violating bond, a Class A misdemeanor.
He is accused of trying to strangle a woman and hitting her over the head with a lamp.
He was jailed in lieu of $5,035.
Ellsworth crash — Two people were injured in a car crash in rural Ellsworth Saturday, according to the McLean County Sheriff's Department.
A pickup truck and a van collided at the intersection of 2600 East and 1200 North roads around 3:30 p.m., said police.
Police were unsure how many passengers were in the vehicles, but said two people were transferred to area hospitals.
