Video of minors — A Chenoa man who works as a correctional officer remained in McLean County jail Tuesday on two counts of unauthorized video recording of two minors.

Prosecutors said James Barnes, 45, had set up a concealed camera in a bag in a bathroom to record two teenage girls as each took a shower. The girls discovered the camera and saw the video included Barnes setting up the camera, court records said.

Prosecutors said Barnes admitted to the girls' mother, whom he knows, that it wasn’t the first time he had done it. Prosecutors said Barnes offered to delete the video.

Barnes was jailed in lieu of posting $7,535. He is due in court July 12.

Aggravated battery — A Bloomington woman was charged with aggravated domestic battery after a stabbing June 30 in the 600 block of Hannah Street in Bloomington.

Jennifer Irwin was jailed in lieu of posting $5,035.

The victim lost a lot of blood from a shoulder wound, but is expected to recover, prosecutors said.

Appearing via a video link from the McLean County jail on Tuesday, Irwin told Judge Thomas Funk, “It was a one-time thing.”

She is due in court July 12.
