Gunfire — A 19-year-old man has been charged with shooting a gun toward a car after an incident Thursday in north Normal.
Tyjuan J. Bruce is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm at an occupied vehicle, a Class 1 felony. He also is charged with reckless discharge of a firearm, four counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and resisting a peace officer.
Court documents said witnesses identified Bruce as the man who fired a gun toward a car from which shots earlier had been fired. Bruce ran from police when they found him the next day, and he dropped a loaded handgun along the way, documents said. A police officer was injured during the pursuit.
He was jailed in lieu of $20,035.
DUI — Kalvin C. Boward, 27, is charged with four counts of aggravated driving under the influence.
Court documents said police pulled over his car after midnight when no headlights or taillights were in use.
He was jailed in lieu of $10,035, ordered to avoid alcohol and to be fitted with a monitoring device.
