Two arrested after armed robbery in north Normal

NORMAL — Two people were arrested in connection with an armed robbery in north Normal late Tuesday.

About 7:50 p.m., Normal police were called to The Digital Store: Verizon Authorized Retailer, 1715 Bradford Lane, for a reported armed robbery.

According to police, a man wearing dark clothing and a mask displayed a handgun and stole cash and cellphones from the business. No injuries were reported.

During the investigation, officers and detectives developed probable cause to serve a search warrant at a Bloomington location.

A 29-year-old Carlock man was arrested on charges of theft and possession of stolen property greater than $300 and obstruction of justice/destruction of evidence.

A 27-year-old Bloomington woman was arrested on charges of for theft and possession of stolen property greater than $300, obstruction of justice/destruction of evidence and possession of between 15 and 100 grams of ecstasy.

They are being held in McLean County jail.

The Pantagraph does not name suspects until they are formally charged.
