YWCA to expand Circle of Women

BLOOMINGTON — YWCA McLean County has announced its annual Circle of Women — a women's-only fundraising event since its inception 15 years ago — will be open to any McLean County resident beginning with 2019.

The event traditionally focused on women to help them "amplify their voice," said Linda Kimber, Circle of Women co-chair. "However, in our current climate, it is becoming more and more evident that the issues in our community encircle both family and community."

Over 15 years, the Circle of Women has averaged 375 women per year and raised $750,000 for YWCA programs and services. Attendance is expected to increase by 25 percent with the change.

The next Circle of Women will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 22 at the DoubleTree by Hilton, 10 Brickyard Drive, Bloomington. More information is at 309-662-0461, ext. 298, or at www.ywcamclean.org/circle.
