Grad ceremony planned for GED
NORMAL — The GED/adult literacy program of the DeWitt/Livingston/McLean Regional Office of Education will sponsor a GED graduation ceremony at 7:30 p.m. June 3 at Normal Community West High School, 501 N. Parkside Road.
Graduates must have attended classes offered by the program and passed their GED test between May 12, 2010, and May 11, 2011. Call 309-888-9884.
Reservations taken for July 4
TOWANDA — The Towanda Fourth of July committee is accepting reservations for booth space at its annual antique flea market on July 4.
Spaces are 12 by 12 feet for $35. The market will be in North and South parks, along with food concessions, a dance on July 3, a parade, games and fireworks. Call 309-728-2384.
VFW post sets holiday event
CHENOA — Chenoa VFW Post 8350 will mark Memorial Day beginning at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Chenoa Cemetery.
The event includes a speaker, Prairie Central High School band, and veterans’ recognition.
A lighted flag display also is planned.
