Open house set for departing leader

BLOOMINGTON -- An open house for retiring McLean County Administrator Terry Lindberg is planned from 1:30 to 4 p.m. May 25 in Room 400 of the Government Center, 115 E. Washington St.

Lindberg has worked in the county administrator's office for 12 years, first as assistant county administrator under former County Administrator John Zeunik. In May 2009, he received a contract to serve his remaining two years in the office as county administrator.

Lindberg had indicated at the time he would be retiring in May this year.

Cornerstone event set by NCHS alums

NORMAL -- The Normal Community High School Alumni Association will dedicate the cornerstone of the former high school building about 4:30 p.m. May 22, following the baccalaureate service at the school.

Current and former school board members, administrators, faculty, staff and former students and the public are invited.

NCHS chooses alumni honorees

NORMAL -- Janet K. Stoltz Holcomb, Class of 1960, and Lynda Poole Hruska, Class of 1976, have been named the 2010-2011 Distinguished Alumni by the Normal Community High School Alumni Association.

They will be recognized at the baccalaureate service at 3 p.m. May 22 at the high school. A public reception will follow.

Holcomb of Palatine is state alliance consultant for Eli Lilly and Co.

Hruska of Normal is executive director of the American Red Cross of the Heartland, serving McLean, Ford, Livingston and LaSalle counties.
